Barrett Ayers is the President and CEO of Adhesion Wealth as well as one of its original founders. He has dedicated his career to advancing and promoting the fee-based advisory business by helping independent advisors deliver conflict-free investment advice to the investment public. Adhesion Wealth allows advisors to focus on client relationships and build their practice by offering a robust outsourced managed account solution.
Barrett has unparalleled insight into the inner workings of model-based and managed account platforms and is an innovator and thought leader in the industry. He is a frequent speaker, presenter, and author on topics ranging from the state of the advisory market, outsourcing investment management, advisory best practices, leveraging behavioral finance in investment management, and custom index design for taxable client portfolios.
Prior to Adhesion Wealth, Barrett served as Senior Vice President of Product Management at Wachovia Securities and held several senior-level strategic posts with Fidelity Investments and Broadridge.
Chief Technology Officer
As one of the original founders of Adhesion Wealth, Trey has been with the company from the beginning. Today, as Chief Information Officer, Trey oversees Adhesion Wealth's engineering, infrastructure, and product teams. In the early years, Trey was responsible for defining the original mission of the company as well as raising the capital to launch it.
Prior to Adhesion Wealth, Trey served as a technology consultant with EDS’ US Banking Division and a Systems Engineer with General Motors’ Plant Automation Division.
Chief Administrative Officer and Head of Sales Operations
Kay Marie joined Adhesion Wealth in 2019. As Chief Administrative Officer & Head of Sales Operations, she is responsible for organizing and implementing company wide strategy, initiatives, and spearheading all aspects of Adhesion's Sales Operations. This includes managing the Adhesion Connect Programs and offering invaluable insights into sales performance and objectives. Kay Marie has over 20 years of experience successfully transforming teams into high-performance cultures while building an optimal work environment.
Her passion for giving back to the Charlotte area and notable national charities has resulted in bringing over $200,000 of coordinated donations and specialized events to organizations such as Ace and TJ's Grin Kids, Beds for Kids, Boys and Girls Club, Cam Newton Foundation, Cindy's Hope Chest, JDRF, and Pro-Am Jam.
Head of Transition Services
Pat is the head of Transition Services, providing transition support to RIA’s who have chosen Adhesion as their outsourced managed account solution. In addition, he oversees the transition pipeline, striving to provide a stress-free transition for advisors going independent.
Pat brings over 15 years of leadership experience in various financial services firms. Before Adhesion, Pat held positions at TradeKing, Ally Invest, and Robinhood. He is a veteran of the US Navy.
Pat is married with one son. He and his wife love going to Panthers games or any sports event—and Charlotte is full of fun sporting events.
Senior Director, Head of Investment Programs
Tom leads Adhesion Wealth’s efforts to provide investment solutions to financial advisors. He oversees the development and delivery of investment products and manages partnership engagements with third party asset managers. Tom’s oversite includes the Adhesion Unified Managed Account platform investment programs such as fixed income, fund strategies, and direct indexing.
Tom brings over 20 years of financial services experience. He has held leadership positions at Envestnet, where he led strategic partnerships and Morningstar Investment Management where he led enterprise and institutional account management. He holds a Bachelor of Philosophy degree in history from Northwestern University.
Tom is married with five children. He and his wife enjoy time with family and friends, good conversation, and a good dog.
Head of Sales
Mark, as Head of Sales, oversees our sales team and consults with firms to understand what they are trying to achieve and helps design their solution. Mark delivers Adhesion’s advisor solutions to firms looking to grow, scale and differentiate themselves from their competition.
Mark has over 23 years of experience partnering with financial advisors and business owners, focusing on growing their revenues and improving their practices. Areas of expertise include investment outsourcing, Unified Managed Accounts and business consulting within the independent advisory channel. Prior to Adhesion Wealth, Mark held positions at SEI and EQIS Capital Management.
Mark holds is B.S. in Accounting from West Chester University of Pennsylvania. He is an avid Philly sports fan. Mark coaches baseball and basketball for his kids – three teenage boys and a daughter.
Head of Client Services
Kim is the Head of Client Services for Adhesion Wealth. She has over 20 years of experience in the Financial Services industry and brings expertise in building and leading high performing operating teams to enhance the advisor experience and improve operating workflow.
Kim has a business degree in Organizational Leadership and Commerce from University of Arizona. She holds her Series 6 and 26 securities licenses and is Six Sigma Green Belt certified.
Kim loves to travel to new destinations where she can Scuba Dive and explore the incredible marine life.
Head of Relationship Management
Scott Fewin, Head of Relationship Management is responsible for developing and strengthening client relationships. Scott collaborates with clients and partners to understand each client’s investment goals and financial objectives. He has 30 years of financial services experience in business development and relationship management. Over his career, he has led successful domestic and international business development teams at companies such as Merrill Lynch, LPL Financial and TD Ameritrade.
Scott is a graduate of the US Military Academy at West Point and served as an Officer in the United States Army. He is married with two adult children and makes Charlotte his home. Scott enjoys supporting the local sport teams in Charlotte.
Director, Systems Administration
Jason joined Adhesion Wealth in 2012. As Manager of Adhesion Wealth’s Systems department, Jason oversees day to day IT operations. This includes maintaining the Adhesion Wealth platform as well as strategic and long-term planning for Adhesion Wealth's Systems. He is also responsible for keeping the department in line with the organizations growth and ensuring stability.
Prior to Adhesion Wealth, Jason served as a Project Manager and Systems Engineer at an IT Managed Services Provider for 5 years where he was responsible for designing and implementing solutions for small to medium business clients.
Director, Overlay Portfolio Management
Lisa joined Adhesion Wealth in 2006. As the Manager of Overlay Portfolio Management, she oversees the daily execution of all investment-related tasks by Adhesion Wealth's Portfolio Management Team. Lisa has been involved in Adhesion's Overlay Portfolio Management (OPM) program since its inception and has been a key contributor to its rapid success. Under Lisa's leadership, the OPM program has grown and developed an array of very talented and experienced Portfolio Managers and Traders that are also direct contributors to the company's success.
Prior to Adhesion Wealth, Lisa served as Operations Manager for six years at Howe and Rusling, an RIA firm based out of Rochester, New York.
Director, Software Development
Robert joined Adhesion Wealth in 2006 and has been an integral part of overseeing the engineering of the Adhesion Wealth platform. As the Director of Development, he is responsible for developing and maintaining all of the various software applications that make up the Adhesion Wealth offering. His team of full-stack developers handle all aspects of the software development lifecycle, utilizing the latest tools and frameworks to provide robust applications for our clients.
Prior to Adhesion Wealth, from 1995 to 2001, Robert built and ultimately sold an engineering firm that developed custom enterprise software solutions. His clients were companies from a variety of industries including Retail, Banking, and Oil & Gas Exploration.
Manager, Portfolio Operations
Kim joined Adhesion Wealth in 2018 and brought her years of experience in different facets of the wealth management field to the operations support group. As the Portfolio Operations Manager, she is responsible for defining and executing processes to support all trading and portfolio management functions. Her team of professionals provide daily middle-office services; from reconciliation to managing the myriad of changes essential to comprehensive portfolio management, her team sits at the core of Adhesion’s outsourcing solution.
Prior to Adhesion Wealth, Kim was a Portfolio Manager and Trader for six years at Dividend Assets Capital, an RIA firm based in Bluffton, South Carolina.
Director of Finance Operations
Tammy joined Adhesion Wealth in 2006. As the Senior Billing Analyst, she oversees all billing operations and our advisor fee offerings. During her years at Adhesion Wealth, Tammy spent the majority as a QA Analyst. She continues to have a strong emphasis on performance measurement.
Prior to Adhesion Wealth, Tammy served as QA Analyst and Support for Schwab Performance Technologies, Inc and Infovisa, Inc. She is a CIPM® certificant.

Director, Head of Manager Relations
Christopher brings over 20 years of investment management experience to Adhesion Wealth. His experience has been dedicated to relationship management, product development, product management and distribution with asset managers across various investment vehicles. At Adhesion, Christopher is responsible for identifying, developing, and maintaining strategic relationships with asset managers that deliver SMA, UMA, ETF and Alternative strategies through the Adhesion platform.
Prior to Adhesion Wealth, Christopher was Global Head of Fund Manager Relations with Aliier Global where he was responsible for deployment and placement of offshore funds through the Aliier Global platform. Additionally, Christopher spent several years at Envestnet Asset Management overseeing asset manager relationships and deployment of Sub Advised Funds, he also held strategic relationship manager positions at Bear, Stearns, and First Chicago Investment Services.
Manager of Client Services
Scott Lewis, the manager of Client Services for Adhesion Wealth, is responsible for leading the service team in delivering timely, exceptional, and efficient service to our clients. He has over 20 years of financial services experience as a financial advisor and working in client services. The last 12 years, Scott has worked at AssetMark in their Advisor Services department and most recently, assisting in leading a team of Relationship Managers.
Scott holds a B.S. in Marketing from Azusa Pacific University and is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™. In his spare time, you will catch him cooking in the kitchen, following his favorite sports teams, or enjoying the California wine country with his wife.
Senior Relationship Manager
David has spent more than 20 years in Relationship Management, Business Development and Sponsor Relations roles at leading Independent Broker-Dealers and FinTech firms, including Cetera, Advisor Group, and SEI Altigo. As Relationship Manager at Adhesion Wealth, David engages client firms to help them unlock value from the Adhesion Wealth platform.
David graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Science degree. He enjoys golf, the beach and coaching youth sports in his free time.
Senior Relationship Manager
Doug Wallace brings over 40 years of experience to Adhesion Wealth spanning several firms including Merrill Lynch as a broker, a product wholesaler with MFS Investment Management, Deutsch Bank’s DWS division and Guggenheim Partners. Doug has been in sales and relationship management for three TAMP/UMA platforms, continuing that path with Adhesion.
Doug’s experience gained over the years allows him to bring to investment professionals a wide and deep knowledge of investment products, distribution channels and advisory platforms. Having spent time working with advisors and their investors, he also offers a consultant’s perspective on managing various advisory business models.
Doug graduated from Babson College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. He enjoys traveling for business and pleasure. In his spare time, he is studying French with the goal of becoming fluent.
Partnership Manager
Jimmie joined Adhesion as a Partnership Manager bringing a strong foundation in finance and a proven track record in the industry with her previous experience as a strategic analyst at Cambridge. With over seven years of experience in the finance industry, she has developed a keen understanding of financial markets and client relations. As a Partnership Manager, she builds and nurtures strategic relationships, helping our partners meet their advisors' needs, driving business growth, and delivering exceptional results.
Jimmie earned her degree in accounting at Indian Hills Community College. Outside of work, Jimmie cherishes her role as a mom of two wonderful children. In her free time, she enjoys indulging her creative side through cake decorating and painting, escaping into the world of books through reading and embracing the tranquility of nature through kayaking adventures.
Senior Relationship Manager
John Farnham brings over 15 years of experience in the wealth management industry to Adhesion Wealth. Prior to joining Adhesion, John spent time in various relationship management and business development roles at some of the largest broker/dealers and RIAs in the country. At Adhesion, John is responsible for developing and strengthening relationships with Adhesion’s advisors, ensuring that every advisor in his care fully understands how Adhesion can help make their businesses more efficient and drive better outcomes for the families and institutions they serve.
John is a Bonaventure University graduate and western New York native. He has called Charlotte, North Carolina home since 2007. Outside of work, John spends his time chasing around his four young children, cheering for his favorite sports teams and playing golf.
Internal Relationship Manager & Adhesion Connect Specialist
Jonathan supports Adhesion’s Relationship Managers in developing and strengthening client relationships. He also serves as our Adhesion Connect Specialist, seeking to establish new possibilities for RIA practices pursuing growth or transitioning to independence. Prior to Adhesion Wealth, Jonathan spent time in banking and investments with Truist, Fidelity, and TIAA, as well as spending time as a Financial Advisor at Ameriprise.
Jonathan has a B.A. in English from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. In his spare time, Jonathan enjoys spending time traveling, playing sports, and enjoying the outdoors with his wife. He also enjoys going to Carolina Panthers games, both in Charlotte and around the country.
Relationship Manager
Sebastian builds and maintains robust relationship with RIA firms and their advisors. With a wealth of experience in relationship management and a deep understanding of the financial services industry, Sebastian is dedicated to delivering exceptional service and fostering long-term client satisfaction.
Sebastian's strong analytical skills and strategic thinking allow him to identify opportunities for growth and improvement, ensuring that advisors can maximize the benefits of their relationship with Adhesion Wealth.
Sebastian holds a degree in Business Administration & Economics from Guilford College, where he developed a strong foundation in finance. Outside of his professional life, Sebastian is passionate about soccer, family (including his 3 fur-babies) and friends.
Senior Solution Consultant
Bob, as a Senior Solutions Consultant, consults with firms to understand what they are trying to achieve and helps design their UMA solution. Bob delivers Adhesion’s advisor solutions to firms looking to grow, scale and differentiate themselves from their competition. He has over 25 years of experience partnering with both RIA’s and independent financial advisors, focusing on growing their revenues, improving their practices and serving their clients. Prior to Adhesion, Bob has held institutional business development roles at Conseco, TD Ameritrade and BNY Mellon.
Bob holds a B.A. from the University of Maryland and is an avid DC sports fan. If he’s not on the golf course, you can find him attending or watching any type of sports or competition shows. Bob lives just outside of Charlotte, NC in Fort Mill, SC.

Brett focuses on connecting with RIA firms that want to grow and scale their businesses. He demonstrates the benefits of using the Adhesion platform and how it can create efficiencies, save time and add value to the investor. Before joining Adhesion Wealth, Brett worked in various roles in the financial industry, including wealth management and private loan sales.
Brett attended Colorado State University. He resides in Charlotte, where he enjoys spending time outdoors and attending local sports events.
Senior Solutions Consultant
David has been in the financial services industry for more than 40 years. He is an experienced FinTech industry professional having developed FinTech new business for front, middle and back-office software and outsourcing services. He has led collaboration and negotiations with a wide range of firms including RIAs, broker dealers, banks, and wealth management. Prior roles included working with managed account platforms and institutional accounts.
David graduated from Keen State College with his Bachelor of Science degree. He obtained his MBA from Suffolk University. In his free time, David enjoys golf, time with his kids and grandkids.

Kevin brings over 20 years of Financial Services experience to Adhesion Wealth. He served as a Regional Director for all investment products in the wire, bank, and independent channels. Capitalizing on that experience and his relationships, Kevin helps grow Adhesion’s clients’ businesses.
Kevin graduated from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. He enjoys the beach and spending time with family when he is not working.

Brian brings nearly 25 years of experience working consultatively to provide advisory wealth management technology solutions and investment product services to RIAs, Broker Dealers, Banks and Family Offices. At Adhesion Wealth, as a Senior Solutions Consultant, Brian builds relationships primarily with Enterprise firms to deliver scale, growth and cost efficiency to their wealth management offering through Adhesion’s advisor solutions.
Prior to joining Adhesion, Brian served as Vice President of Managed Account Solutions at Fidelity Investments, Executive Director of Managed Accounts at J.P. Morgan Clearing Corporation and Managing Director of Managed Accounts at Bear Stearns.
In his personal life, Brian enjoys spending time with his wife and two teenage daughters. He is also an avid sports fan and very active in dog rescue initiatives.
